Greetings! I hope you have all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your families! We celebrated with 14 of our friends in our new home. We moved in September from Colorado to Arizona. We had 3 weeks to pack up our house, find a new home and then move! All why my daughter was expecting any day our latest grand daughter! Packing the house wasn’t as bad as packing my cabin! My husband built me a wonderful cabin behind our house which was 20 x 20 with a loft! As you can all relate, give a quilter some space and we will fill it up! Next was finding a home which would have the space needed for my stuff and longarm! We were lucky enough to find a nice home and a space in the garage for my longarm! I’m looking forward to getting back into sewing and quilting! I’ve been monograming a slew of towels for my kid’s Christmas. I think I’m done with them and now can move onto new Christmas Stockings for my daughter’s family.
I have found time to search the web for some things I thought you might enjoy!
Do you make bags? There is a fabulous YouTube video from Carmen Maidment on turning your bag through a zipper pocket! No more leaving a small space and shoving it through hoping not to break any stitches!
I just got a great email from bernina that shows so many pillow ideas! Check this out we all sew They have 14 pillow options! They all look great and I’m sure you will enjoy checking them out!
Microwave Soup Bowls
There is a crazy sensation going on for these microwave soup bowls. Have you ever made one? If you haven’t, there is a great pattern at supermom no cape! They are great for heating things up in the microwave and not burning your hands when you take it out of the microwave!
Have you ever wanted to do cutwork designs? I have, but I don’t have a machine with a knife to cutout the designs. Well, the site sewguides.com has several ways to make cutwork without a special machine! This week Anita Goodesign has a beautiful Toile Fruit design which has cutwork, and it’s $1 until December 7!
Sweet Pea Embroidery has a wonderful checklist for when you have thread problems. She has listed the top reasons for thread breakage on an embroidery machine! Even if you aren’t using an embroidery machine, her tips are very helpful when you feel like you’re in the land of splitting threads.
Over at Creatin n the Stitches she is kicking off the Thermoweb Holiday Quilt Block Series where 4 members of the Thermoweb design team will share holiday block designs. The first one is up and the rest to follow. Here are the dates:
