Answers to some of our Questions

Frixion Pens-All you need to know

So many things have been written about Frixion pens so I was happy to read an article written by Jenny K. Lyon at The Quilt Skipper. She contacted the company and her article explains why the ink comes back with cold weather and why it may leave a faint line. She also explains some products which will completely remove the ink from your quilt. Check her article out at  The Quilt Skipper  I’m sure you will find it very informative.

Greenfairyquilts.com

I was just introduced to a great website and wanted to share it with you. They mainly sell precuts but they also sell yardage fabric. The great thing is their prices. I saw buy one jelly roll, get one free. They will match anybody’s prices and allow you to pre-order your fabric before it is released so you can make sure you get some before it’s gone. And no matter what you buy, shipping is only $1.95. Check them out and see if you think it’s a good place to shop like I did. www.greenfairyquilts.com

Angela at Homemade in the Heartlands states, “They don’t fall off! They are made out of soft knit fabric so in between a sock and shoe and the elastic around the ankle makes it so they don’t fall off little feet. I loved them so much I decided to make my own version and share the pattern and tutorial with you! ” Her pattern is wonderful and explains how to use the small snaps. I personally love Kamsnaps which are plastic snaps that come in all sizes and very easy to put on. Their instructions are very clear and understandable.  http://tinyurl.com/zu8qmle

Mitered & Flanged Machine Binding Tutorialmitered-flanged-machine-bindingkamsnaps

Karen, of Redbird Quilts, starts out explaining how she is going to use two different bloggers. Here is what she says,”It’s the whopper of machine binding tutorials because I decided to include steps for a Mitered Finish as inspired by a YouTube video by Lisa Bongean (Primitive Gatherings) with Kimberly at The Fat Quarter Shop.” Then she starts the instruction. It’s a nice tutorial to keep for future reference when your ready to do a binding this way.  http://tinyurl.com/znafjnv
